| System Won't StartTry removing the power cord from the mains, pressing the start button for 30 seconds, reconnecting the mains and pressing the start button once more. Believe it or not this has worked more times than I can remmeber ! This can also fix a network card that has become dead locked.

Memory Having enough memory in your computer can make a great difference to the overall performance. Consider the analogy of a worker in a warehouse, if the warehouse is half empty and the worker is asked to check the contents of a particular box it is a relatively simple exercise for the worker to find and open the box. However if the warehouse is almost full , then many boxes may have to be moved before the required box is available to be worked on. This rearrangement of boxes / swapping of memory is very inefficient. Also excessive swapping of memory back and forth to a harddrive can lead to a shortened lifespan. |
